AutoWIKI, accessible from https://autowiki.ca/ and with installable apps in Google Play Store and Apple App Store, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by AutoWIKI and how we use it.

This Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our Android application with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in AutoWIKI. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this Android application.

Information we collect

We don’t collect any personal information through our Android Application. We collect basic order information from advertisers. We don’t store any financial information on our servers such as banks or credit card numbers however our payment merchant Paypal may. See their privacy policy for more details.

We do collect the following data primarily for sending location based content and advertising.

Please note that despite our Android application prompting you for permission to record your voice, none of this is stored on our servers. The reason for this notice is our use of Google voice recognition APIs. Your voice is transmitted to Google cloud services where it is rendered into text and returned to your phone in lieu of pressing buttons. AutoWIKI operates as a software client for Wikipedia. This means it passes queries directly to Wikipedia. By using your Android application, your location, phone type (see USER_AGENT above) and locale will be transmitted to Wikipedia. See their privacy policy for more details.

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

When you purchase advertising, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number.

How we use your information

Including the purposes mentioned above, we use the information we collect in other various ways, such as:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our Android application and web site
• Improve, personalize, and expand our Android application and web site
• Understand and analyze how you use our Android application and web site

Log Files

AutoWIKI follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
